Nollywood Actress Chinny Premiers Movie At World Igbo Congress In America

Chinyere Okparaji fondly called Chinny is an Imo state born Nigerian TV presenter and Nollywood actress/producer and scriptwriter. This TV & Radio broadcaster turned actress is one fast rising producer to watch out for. She has produced 'Biaty' and Sweetie My Love which she starred in. Biaty will be premiered in August on Africa Magic channel 159 while Sweetie my love a ghetto movie to be watched out for is marketed by Dubem holdings. She is currently producing an Igbo language film Americana Mercedes (Mercedes Onye Bekee ) subtitled in English which will be premiered in America at the World Igbo Congress in September 2016. She is the CEO of Change Wave Media and Coordinator of Obi-Igbo film & Theatre project geared towards the promotion and preservation of Igbo language and culture. Obi-Igbo is endorsed by Ohaneze Ndi Igbo, Aka Ikenga and World Igbo congress.
Chinny says she's all set to reel out Igbo contents of Igbo cultural expressions embedded with Igbo literature, arts, dances, music and folklore which will increase penchant for Igbo literature and arts and eventually evolve into a huge popular entertainment and tourist attraction.
Chinny stated that Igbo language is one of the endangered and disappearing languages of the world.
The habitual problem of Igbos choosing English as the language of communication even when talking to a fellow Igbo person is one of our greatest mistake and the consequence is that in a few decades when our language is lost, the next generation Igbos will have to relearn the language of our forefathers' she says.
Obi-Igbo is a voice in the propagation and exhibition of Igbo language and heritage using films, series and stage performances.
The production of Americana Mercedes is ongoing in Owerri, Imo state and is directed by Stanley Omeze( St IJ).
